At UFDA, we believe in continuity in crisis. Meaning during a crisis, we work to meet immediate needs while rebuilding the services people depend on. ​Your gift to Dignity in Action helps support work across three interconnected areas:
Humanitarian Aid: Sourcing essential supplies to meet urgent needs, including food, water, shelter, and hygiene.
Health & Medical Care: Providing essential and specialized care, including sexual and reproductive health, maternal and newborn health, chronic disease and cancer care, and integrated mental health support.
Recovery & Community Support: Strengthening education, community programs, and local capacity so essential services can continue through crisis and into recovery.
These areas work together. UFDA connects immediate humanitarian assistance with the care, services, and local capacity communities need over time — rather than treating emergency response and recovery as separate phases.​

That means listening to the people closest to the needs. Treating people as partners in their own recovery, rather than passive recipients of aid. Supporting local expertise instead of replacing it. And designing programs around locally defined priorities.
